Known for her role as Jax Teller's wife, Tara Knowles, "Sons of Anarchy" star Maggie Siff joins the promising cast of Showtime's pilot drama series "Billions." After her character was killed on the show's Season 6, Siff found a new gig playing alongside "Homeland" star Damien Lewis and award-winning actor Paul Giamatti.

The actress will play as Paul Giamatti's wife, Wendy Rhoades, a "highly in demand performance coach who works with some of the most powerful and influential figures in the world of high finance." Written and executive produced by Andrew Ross Sorkin, Brian Koppelman and David Levien, "Billions" will start filming its pilot in early 2015.

"Billions stars award winners Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis as major financial world operatives on a collision course," according to Entertainment Weekly. "Giamatti plays a hard-charging U.S. Attorney and Lewis is an ambitious hedge fund king."

The star's first breakout role in television was on AMC's "Mad Men," where she played department store heiress Rachel Menken Katz. A total opposite from her biker chick role on FX, the mother of one revealed that some of her fans from her previous show did not even recognise her due to her two characters being polar opposites.

The 40-year-old star earned her first nomination, along with the rest of the "Mad Men" cast, for a Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. She was also nominated as Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in Critics' Choice Television Award for her role as Tara Knowles in 2012 and 2014.

Before being cast to play alongside Charlie Hunnam in FX series, Siff also appeared in "Nip/Tuck." Not just an amazing actress but also a talented singer, the New York-born star sang the song "Lullaby for a Soldier (Arms of the Angels)" in the closing scene of "Sons of Anarchy" episode "John 8:32."

Meanwhile, Siff's casting is her first gig after ending her 6-year run with "Sons of Anarchy" following her character's brutal death in the hands of her husband's mother, Gemma Teller. Tara's murder and Jax's revenge marks the beginning of the "Sons of Anarchy" series finale that ended with SAMCRO's president offering his life to clean up his mess.
