Known for his gritty biker drama show "Sons of Anarchy," series creator Kurt Sutter was rushed to an L.A. hospital on Monday morning, Oct. 27, due to an excruciating pain in his abdomen. The former actor of the hit FX show was on the set filming the last few episodes of SOA season 7 when his appendix burst, the reason why he needed to go under the knife.

"The genius behind 'Sons of Anarchy' was rushed off set and into an L.A. hospital where he lost some weight -- in the form of an appendix -- and then Instagrammed the gruesome photos," TMZ reports. Sutter is reportedly recovering and his emergency operation will not likely affect the shooting, TMZ says.

The gruesome photo was captioned, "So apparently this needed to come out." Staying true to his "Sons of Anarchy" background, the controversial writer shared the snap of an almost 10-inch mass that was removed during his operation.

Earlier this month, Sutter revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that he has gotten emotional upon the thought of ending the show. The executive producer even discussed in the season 7 premiere screening "the brotherly relationship" with actor Charlie Hunnam and the tight relationship he shared with the cast.

Now resting comfortably after his appendectomy, Sutter will conclude his biker show on Dec. 2. Millions of fans await SAMCRO's final ride. The last episode was aired Tuesday, Oct. 21, and it featured August Marks (Billy Brown) and his men scooping out Bobby's (Mark Boone Junior) eye so they can deliver it to Jax (Charlie Hunnam).

For this week's episode, SOA season 7 features Jax and his motorcycle gang desperately looking for the missing SAMCRO. Now that all eyes are on Jax, he can't afford to make a wrong decision that will cost him another life of one of his closest friends.

Setting aside his plan of revenge, Jax will make use of his new alliances for the Mayans and the Bastards to help him find Bobby in "The Separation of Crows." "Sons of Anarchy" season 7, episode 8 returns to FX on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 10 P.M.
