“The Sims 4” fans will have to wait another month before they get their hands on the next expansion, “Get Together.” Instead of the originally planned November release date, Electronic Arts has pushed this back to Dec. 8.

The game’s expansion was announced at Gamescom in August. “Get Together” adds a new area called Windenburg. It also includes new DJ and dancing skills, as well as giving the player the ability to build their own club. “Get Together” includes both traditional and calm landscapes.

"As you might have guessed from the name, this expansion is about your Sims getting together in really exciting new ways," senior producer Lyndsay Pearson stated in a blog post in “The Sims” page.

Pearson also assured fans that Electronic Arts has been putting all its efforts on the expansion to make it as complete as possible, reported Gamespot. The reason for the delay lies in the fact that developer Maxis is using the extra time to add depth to the expansion. The team behind the expansion has taken into consideration the feedback from the community.

Extra attention is being given to the game’s clubs to improve and enhance social experiences. A private room at the local cafe will be added for the Upper Crusts and an exclusive Discotheque for Spin Masters will facilitate them to practice their dance moves. The expansion will also add support for the Club’s Signature Spot, which can lead to many personalization as stated in the official site.

Just recently, Maxis lost its senior vice president Lucy Bradshaw. Bradshaw served in Electronic Arts for 23 years before leaving the company last September. She has been replaced by Rachel Franklin who used to be the general manager for Maxis. Bradshaw joined Electronic Arts in 1997 when EA acquired Maxis. Her previous experience came from working at LucasArts, wherein she had been part of projects like “Star Wars: Rebel Assault” and “Monkey Island 2.”

The “Get Together” expansion requires “The Sims 4” base game and all game updates to play. More updates about the game will be disclosed by Electronic Arts in early November.
