Pixelated Pirated Copies Of The Game

Piracy is common among games and the developers of "The Sims 4" made a humorous approach on combating pirated copies of the game. According to TheFuseJoplin, pirated copies of "The Sims 4" present pixelated visual gaming experience to downloaders. In addition, the site claims that it is a new technology implied on the software to fight piracy instead of using DRM policy or other security measures.

Due to the aging technology of CD key encryption and authenticity, developers have made other techniques in order to fight piracy. Pirated "The Sims 4" is playable, but once the executable file has been activated, it will trigger a security on the game engine to disturb the visual effects through pixilation. This type of technology which disturbs gameplay has been applied already on Batman Arkham Asylum, Serious Sam 3 and GTA IV based from the source.
