Zayn Malik recently revealed his deal with RCA Records on his Twitter page. While his former One Direction bandmates have yet to comment on his new career, the band’s manager, Simon Cowell, took to his own Twitter page to express his support for Malik.

Cowell did not hesitate to share his excitement for Malik’s solo career. He posted a couple of well-wishes for Zayn.

Cowell shared his well-wishes after Malik announced on Thursday that he has signed a deal with RCA Records. Malik also revealed the real reason he left One Direction.

Now Magazine reports that the 22-year old finalised his deal with the recording brand on Wednesday. A photo shared by the British magazine shows the singer smiling for the camera while signing his record deal with RCA.

RCA Records also confirmed Malik’s announcement with a photo shared on its official Twitter page. The image was captioned, “Welcome to the #RCAFamily!” RCA Records is responsible for the stardom of some of the famous artists in this generation, including Alicia Keys and Justin Timberlake. Twitter user POCzirry shared this information on her post, which Zayn retweeted. Time says Malik is apparently already aware of where his deal with the record label is headed, considering all the famous artists that RCA Records has worked with.

Malik said on his Twitter post that his deal with RCA will help bring out the “#REALME” when it comes to his music career. Time claims it’s possible that his solo career will give him more freedom in writing every song on his debut solo album. It can reportedly also help him focus on his love for the R&B and hip-hop music genre, which he stayed away from when he was with One Direction.

Malik’s new record deal with RCA came just four months after he quit One Direction in March. Through a Facebook post, Malik revealed his reason for leaving the group was so he could live the life of a “normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight.”
