Sexy "Baywatch" actress Carmen Electra has formally called-off her 4-year engagement with musician fiancé, Rob Patterson, strongly supporting the rumors that the "X Factor" Judge Simon Cowell could be a possible third party to the relationship.

Rob Patterson has somehow confirmed the news of their split on the social networking site "Facebook" as he changed his status to "single" from "engaged" on Monday. There were also reports from Enterntainmentwise.com that Rob had moved out of their shared home in Beverly Hills.

Friends of Carmen and Rob said in reports that the couple tried to save their relationship in recent weeks but things did not work out well.

"They have been trying to work things out for a while but it just wasn't possible," a source told Radar Online.

The sexy actress had previously appeared as a guest judge on "Britain's Got Talent" in February where she heavily flirted with Simon Cowell on the show. Carmen Electra is not the first one to succumb to Simon Cowell's charms. Cowell previously admitted that he also had a fling with the previous "X-Factor" judge Dannii Minogue.

There were rumors that Carmen Electra has started dating the former "American Idol" judge being spotted on a very public dinner date at a West Hollywood restaurant.

There were also reports that Carmen and Rob called off their engagement as she participates "The Choice," a reality-dating game show which features famous singles to go on dates with non-famous singles, celebrity blog zap2it.com said.

Carmen Electra will appear with other female celebrities -- Sophie Monk, Hope Dworaczyk, and Rima Fakih on FOX.
