Lydia’s relationship with her young boyfriend Jimmy Barnes, played by Nathaniel Buzolic, faced another trial in “Significant Mother” episode 3 titled “Who’s Your Daddy?” Lydia Marlowe’s pregnancy test result shook the Marlowe household and tested how strong her romantic connection is with Jimmy.

Lydia Marlowe, played by Krista Allen, is worried that a pregnancy will scare Jimmy away. Lydia’s pregnancy scare happened while doing the “Wash and Dry Wednesday” with her son Nate, played by Josh Zuckerman.

Lydia wants to confirm first if she is pregnant before breaking the news to Jimmy. Lydia asks her son not to tell Jimmy about the pregnancy but Nate is not really good at keeping secrets from his best friend because Jimmy knows him too well.

Jimmy becomes suspicious that Nate is hiding something important from him. Jimmy’s determination to find out Nate’s secret forced Lydia to claim that Nate has herpes.

Nate is shocked when Jimmy and Sam Dillinger, played by Emma Fitzpatrick, tried to console him because of his “herpes” secret. Nate finally tells Jimmy that her mom lied because she does not want anyone else to know about her pregnancy.

Harrison Marlowe, played by Jonathan Silverman, lets Jimmy know that he is determined to win his ex-wife back. Harrison and Jimmy rush to Dr. Richter’s clinic where Lydia is having her checkup.

While waiting for the result, Lydia admits to Nate that she is scared about losing him and Jimmy because of the pregnancy. Jimmy assures Lydia that he can handle the situation as long as they are facing it together.

Dr. Richter approaches the group to reveal the result of Lydia’s checkup. However, the doctor suddenly died in front of Lydia, Jimmy, Nate and Harrison before he could even give the result.

The episode’s ending scene at the Lincoln restaurant finally revealed that Lydia is not pregnant. “Well, here’s to false positives,” Nate declares.

Lydia explains that the nausea medications she took messed up her hormone levels. “I should have checked the label,” Lydia declares.

Then, Harrison points out that the bright side of the incident is being with Dr. Richter during his final moments. “Significant Mother” will return with episode 4 titled “Edibles Wrecks” on Monday night, Aug. 24, at 9:30/8:30c on the CW Network.
