The “Come on Over” hitmaker and country singer, Shania Twain has revealed her emotional and physical state following her divorce from husband of 14 year as she opens up five years after the split.

In an interview with the Queen of Talk, Oprah Winfrey, Twain discussed her fears of not getting back on her feet as her marriage with husband, Robert John "Mutt" Lange ended three years ago.

"I figured mentally that I would never sing again," Reuters quoted Twain as telling Winfrey.

Twain added: "I hadn't written a song without this man in 14 years....How do I even get started?."

The Canadian born singer explained in an exclusive interview on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” Tuesday how her divorce-related stress had affected not only her emotions but also her physical conditions, particularly her voice.

"My fears and anxieties throughout my whole life have been slowly squeezing my voice," Twain said, according to Reuters. "I was losing it slowly and progressively."

Her failed marriage and her fight to get her voice back were also the focus of her memoir, "From This Moment On" and a documentary, titled, "Why Not?" that was aired Sunday on Winfrey's cable TV network, Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).

In the book, Twain recounted how her husband asked for divorce in 2008, emphasizing that he did one day before she knew of his affair with her own best friend, Marie-Anne Thiebauld. She detailed the slow-withdrawal of her husband from her and their child, Eja.

Twain said in the book that she was able to pick up the pieces as she found comfort in the arms of Frederic Thiebaud, the husband of her best friend who stole her own. Twain and Thiebaud were married in January this year.
