The way Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose provided the highlight of the year in "Hell in a Cell," things are looking up and up for the newest heel in the World Wrestling Entertainment. Rollins is on his way to cementing his status as the next generation of antagonists following the lineage of the great men before him such as Andre de Giant, Triple H and Randy Orton.

Rollins stole the show at the "Night of Champions" when he tried to cash in his money in a bank, resulting to a disqualification for Brock Lesnar and an unsatisfying win for John Cena. After USA Today hailing last week's "Hell in a Cell" as one of the best wrestling events of the year, Rollins is slowly climbing up the top of power rankings for WWE villains.

The match between Ambrose and Rollins was supposed to settle a months-long feud between the two rivals in a 20-foot cell and boy, did it deliver. Ambrose was first to climb the ring and hurl his insults at Rolllins, daring him to join in on the battle. Before Rollins climbed up the ring, he summoned his Authority henchmen bring him Ambrose whilst pummeling his opponent with kendo sticks. Just when many observers are being critical of how family friendly the WWE is turning into, the two men wrestle on top of the cell and fall down and plummet on the announcer's table, old school style. As the emergency team arrive and the pair appear to be hurt, Ambrose fought off the medical personnel to drag back Rollins to the ring.

And from that point on it was pure wrestling. The two men traded chair stomps and vicious strikes. Ambrose appeared to have the upper hand, especially when he landed a flying elbow from the top of the rope that broke in half the table that Rollins was laid upon. The ending was divisive as Bray Wyatt provided the usual assistance to the villain to grab the unexpected win at the event. Even with the last sequence, the match proved to be the best in this year's bunch of pay-per-view specials.

It also showed why Triple H has anointed Rollins as his successor as lead heel in the business. Rollins began his heel turn with the betrayal of his Shield brothers way back in June. His turn to the dark side continued with his rivalry with Dean Ambrose and lately with John Cena who also wants his number after costing him the heavyweight championship at "Night of Champions." And with Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns out, the outfit is looking keen on putting the spotlight right now on the villain. This is a good path to take as a setup to "Royal Rumble" and "Wrestlemania 31" when the good guys will come up on top again. For now, Rollins is enjoying his fun in the sun.
