Former Presidential hopeful, Sen. John Edwards, has shown no sign of shame or worry about the federal cases hurled against him that could land him to five years in prison as he appeared beaming with smiles from ear to ear in his mug shots.

The Democrat lawmaker, said The New York Post, "still managed to beam like a prom queen" as he faced the camera in his mug shot, the U.S. Marshals Service circulated Wednesday, June 15.

The mug shot came after the embattled politician was indicted for allegedly spending $1million campaign contributions to cover-up siring a child with his mistress, Rielle Hunter.

Edwards has been slapped with conspiracy and illegal taking of contributions. The politician is facing five years imprisonment for each count. The legislator pleaded not guilty on all cases filed against him, claiming he had no idea he was violating any laws. For a lawmaker, that argument may not stand in court.

Edwards was discovered fathering a baby last year but denied it at first, before finally recognizing his lovechild with Hunter, whom he hired in 2008 to edit behind-the-scenes footage of the presidential campaign.
