Before Justin Bieber and Taylor Lautner, Selena Gomez had dated former Disney star, Nick Jonas. While their relationship was anything but private, the "Nelena" couple was a trend on the web back in 2010. Yet, in Selena's latest interview, it seems that Nick Jonas wasn't really considered a "boyfriend" by the "Come & Get It" singer.

"Jelena" may be the current trend on the social networking site, Twitter, but before that there was "Nelena." Nick Jonas and Selena Gomez had dated for almost a year that caused quite the ruckus on various web tabloids. They're on-off and on again relationship was quite the talk. Even after their break-up, Nick and Selena were subject to gossip. Well, blame partly goes to Gomez who had blabbed non-stop about her ex-beau, Nick.

"I was in a relationship previously where I had to hide everything and it wasn't my choice. I had to go through different exits and take separate cars and do the craziest things, and it just really wasn't worth it. It was like a year of my life completely wasted," said Gomez in her interview with Cosmopolitan.

Obviously, Selena was taking a dig at Nick Jonas. Another apparent jab at Nick was mentioned in Gomez's interview with Seventeen Magazine.

"And I wasn't myself for a year. I think that was really damaging. I felt like it was me always trying to be perfect for him," answered Gomez to the question if she had ever changed for a guy she liked.

Clearly, the break-up between Nick and Selena was anything but pleasant with Kevin Jonas even taking a dig at Nick's' ex. Even with the history behind them, it looks as if Selena is ready to let go and live. In Gomez's latest interview, the 20-year old reveals that Nick Jonas didn't really feel like a "boyfriend" back then.

"I had my first 'boyfriend' [Nick Jonas], which wasn't really a boyfriend, at 14, 15. You're young and you don't know how to be," stated Gomez.

So much for Nick fans hoping of reconciliation between Selena Gomez and him. One point is clear from Gomez's statement that the "Nelena" reunion is unlikely to happen.
