Selena Gomez not only has an impressive career as a popstar but she is also a noteworthy actress. The Texan beauty shared on Tweeter that she has been roped in for a role opposite "Ant-Man's" Paul Rudd in the upcoming movie "The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving." The upcoming indie drama film is based on the 2013's best-selling novel by author Jonathan Evison and will be directed by Emmy Award winner Rob Burnett.

Rudd will play the role of a caregiver named Ben who looks after Trevor, a teenager who is in advanced stage of Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a form of muscle degeneration that affects 1 in 3,600 boys and worsens quickly, according to Medicine Plus. In the film Gomez plays Dot, the love interest of Trevor. After meeting Dot on a road trip, the teenager gradually gets impressed by her lack of embarrassment about his disease and develops a crush on her, according to Deadline. The website adds Gomez's character is that of a "sassy young woman" who asks for a ride from both Trevor and Ben.

On Sunday, Gomez also posted few pictures on her Instagram account with writer/actor Justin Theroux and Paul Rudd. The trio clicked and posted the pictures during the Golden Globe awards and looked happy posing for it. The picture, which can be seen here, has gained more than 1.1 million likes. Rudd and Gomez will begin shooting for the "The Revised Fundamentals Of Caregiving" on Jan. 22 in Atlanta, says the website.

The ex-girlfriend of singer Justin Bieber released a single "The Heart Wants What It Wants" some time back and gained praise for it when she performed the song live during the 42nd American Music Awards at Los Angeles back in November 2014. There was speculation in the media that the emotional song was about her on-and-off boyfriend Justin Bieber and their rocky relationship. The 22-year-old songstress got emotional and almost cried during the performance. Read about it here. The brunette beauty was last seen in "Rudderless," which premiered at the Sundance film festival in 2014.
