With the highly anticipated PC release of Rockstar’s “Grand Theft Auto V” right around the corner, gamers looking to pre-order the title and save some money are in luck thanks to a sale on Green Man Gaming. However, PC gamers who simply can’t wait till the game’s April 14 release can get a taste by exploring an impressive recreation of Los Santos in a brand new mod for “Cities: Skylines.”

The new mod, available via the “Cities: Skylines” Steam Workshop page, was created by an intrepid Steam user named “Grockerfeller.” A six-minute video, uploaded by YouTube user Olli43, takes viewers on a virtual flythrough of the entire map, soaring over downtown Los Santos, Blaine County and even Mount Chilliad.

It’s worth noting that while the level of visual fidelity is extremely high, the map isn’t a 1:1 recreation of Los Santos. Major city areas, roads and geography are recreated to a high degree of accuracy, but specific buildings, textures and of course the core gameplay found in “GTA V” are all missing.

In order to download and install the “GTA V” mod, gamers can simply head over to Grokerfeller’s Steam Workshop page and hit the subscribe button and the required files will be added automatically to the “Cities: Skylines” in-game save file. It’s also necessary to download another mod, called “2x4 Parking Lot,” which helps get smaller parking lots working in the base game.

Paradox’s city building game, “Cities Skylines” has been extremely well received by gamers, selling an impressive 250,000 copies within the first 24 hours. Grockerfeller’s “GTA V” mod for “Cities: Skylines” has already been downloaded more than 13,000 times and there are already over 8,000 additional mods up and running on the game’s Steam Workshop page. PC Gamer recently showed off a separate mod, which allows gamers to enter first-person view and see their cities from street-level, aping the new first-person camera added to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of “GTA V.”

Gamers who aren’t interested in city building and just want the real thing can take advantage of an ongoing “Grand Theft Auto V” PC sale on digital storefront, Green Man Gaming. Registering for an account and heading over to the GMG VIP Room will see the price on “GTA V” for PC slashed to just $35.09. Also on sale at GMG are a host of other big PC titles, including “Wolfenstein: The Old Blood,” “Mortal Kombat X,” “Cities: Skylines” itself and much more.

IGN rated “Cities Skylines” an 8.5/10, highlighting the games powerful, flexible toolset, gorgeous graphics and the scale of the cities players can create. Pending further delays, “GTA V” for PC will be released on April 14.
