Funds manager Securcorp Ltd has delivered the final touches to its residential apartment project undertaken in the Townsville CBD, the $40 million Altitude in Walker Street.

Construction has been completed on the project in the heart of Townsville’s Central Business District and is now being marketed as one of the highest quality projects to be completed in the burgeoning CBD precinct.

Christie Leet, of PRD Townsville, has been appointed to market the project which he says offers ‘unsurpassed quality at below future replacement prices’.

Securcorp took control of Altitude at the end of 2009 as a result of the original developer and builder being placed into liquidation.

Altitude, which features 46 residences, many with spectacular views over the CBD and to Magnetic Island, is seen as a catalyst project to the transformation of the CBD into a high quality new urban residential environment.

Securcorp Managing Director Michael Robinson says the delivery of Altitude is a positive result for Townsville.

“This is an iconic project for the city and our objective has been to ensure it was completed to the highest standard, which we have achieved with the input of the local contractors we have had on site,” he said.

“Altitude has been delivered as promised and we see this project as heralding the introduction of a new standard of contemporary apartment living and an important element in the wider revitalisation of the CBD.”

Securcorp appointed Queensland based construction company Matrix at the beginning of 2010 to complete product, with the majority of original contractors reengaged.

Altitude is positioned close to the city’s entertainment and restaurant precinct and offers architecturally designed two and three bedroom apartments across 16 floors that provide panoramic views of Castle Hill and across the water to Magnetic Island.
