In the next episode of “Scream: The TV Series,” MTV’s adaptation of the hit “Scream” movie franchise, the new Ghostface will continue to terrorise the residents of Lakewood town. The latest spoilers on the new TV series tease that lead character Emma Duval, played by Willa Fitzgerald, will be searching for answers on the identity of the mysterious person who sends her text messages and calls her.

Spoiler alert: This feature contains major spoilers on MTV’s “Scream: The TV Series.”

According to the brief synopsis of episode 4 titled “Aftermath” in TV Guide, high school students Emma Duval and Audrey Jensen, played by Bex Taylor-Klaus, will be searching for answers after receiving a mysterious message. Someone has been calling and texting Emma following the brutal death of her friend Nina Patterson, played by Bella Thorne.

Emma is determined to find out who is terrorising her with mysterious text messages and calling her phone after her other friend, Riley, played by Brianne Tju, and Audrey’s girlfriend, Rachel, played by Sosie Bacon, were also brutally murdered. The killer told Emma her life is a lie because everyone around her has been keeping secrets.

Emma found out in “Scream: The TV Series” episode 3 titled “Wanna Play A Game?” the true identity of her mother, Maggie Duval, played by Tracy Middendorf, and her connection to a killer named Brandon James. It turns out that Emma’s mother is Daisy, the woman that Brandon James was obsessed with.

The killer, who could be a man or a woman, assured her that he or she will be showing Emma the truth about who she really is. Meanwhile, MTV released a sneak peek video of the new TV series’ next episode titled “Aftermath.”

The official video clip titled “Duke Tuition” features Emma’s cheating boyfriend, Will Belmont, played by Connor Weil, and his friend Jake Fitzgerald, played by Tom Maden. The clip teases about Will’s financial problem.

In the clip, Will tells Jake the good news that he got into Duke. Jake gives Will a “huge congrats” but Will reveals he does not have a scholarship.

“So I’m gonna be paying 63 grand, which may as well be 63 million,” Will declares as he throws his bag in the car to express his frustration. “You told your dad?” Jake asks Will before the sneak peek video ended. Click HERE to watch the official “Scream: The TV Series” episode 4 sneak peek video.

“Scream: The TV Series” airs on Tuesday nights at 10/9c on MTV. Episode 4 titled “Aftermath” is scheduled to air on July 21.
