Scott Eastwood has just confirmed his involvement in “Suicide Squad.” The actor is rumoured to play the role of Wonder Woman’s love interest, Steve Trevor.

Entertainment Tonight caught up with Scott Eastwood during one of his promotional tours for his new movie “The Longest Ride.” The actor blurted out his “Suicide Squad” involvement and simply said, “I’m doing a movie called 'Suicide Squad.'" The actor’s co-star, Cara Delevingne, who plays Enchantress, somehow also confirmed he’s in the David Ayer film when she posted a photo of them together on her Instagram page last week.

Official casting of Scott Eastwood has yet to be announced. However, “Suicide Squad” scoopster Umberto Gonzalez said on his Instagram post that the actor’s rumoured role as Steve Trevor will set him up for another appearance at the 2017 Wonder Woman solo film.

According to Cinema Blend, Scott Eastwood will also be playing the role of an Advanced Research Group for Uniting Super-Humans, or A.R.G.U.S. agent, considering the film will reportedly be heavily based on the New 52 issue of the comics. Trevor will be an agent who works under the command of Suicide Squad head Amanda Waller (Viola Davis). He reportedly also served as government liaison with the Justice League and also eventually became the head of A.R.G.U.S.

In the DC comics, Steve Trevor is Wonder Woman’s main love interest. According to Latino Review, he was the one who convinced Amanda Waller that Wonder Woman and the other Amazons are not a danger to global security. Trevor had made his feelings known to Diana, but unfortunately his feelings were not reciprocated.

While Steve Trevor may be working under Amanda Waller’s command, in the 1941 origin story of Wonder Woman he is described as a good guy who fights the bad guys with Wonder Woman. However, according to Cinema Blend, in this version of Trevor’s story, it’s Wonder Woman who falls in love with him first after she restores his health after crash landing on her hometown in Themyscira.

Scott Eastwood is joined by fellow “Suicide Squad” cast members Jared Leto (Joker), Will Smith (Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) and Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang). It’s still uncertain how his rumoured role as Steve Trevor will play into the film’s story since production details have so far been scarce.
