Jason Donovan is willing to return to “Neighbours” if onscreen romance Kylie Minogue also will. The 46-year-old singer/actor hinted at a possible return to the long-running soap opera.

Donovan famously played Scott Robinson between from 1986 to 1989 as love interest to Charlene Mitchell, played by Minogue. Their wedding, first broadcast in Australia in 1987, had been watched by 20 million viewers in the UK when it was aired in 1988.

In the show, Scott and Charlene are still together even though they aren’t featured onscreen anymore. They have two children together, with their son Daniel (Tim Phillipps) making his first screen appearance in April 2014.

Appearing in “Loose Women,” Donovan said that he is willing to return to the show if Minogue and their co-stars Guy Pearce and Craig McLachlan are also coming back.

“The thing about something like that is that it’s got to be a group effort,” he told presenters Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan, Janet Street-Porter and Jamelia. “It can’t just be one or two. Possibly if Kylie and Guy and Craig [returned], there’s a bunch of them.”

Minogue also recently tweeted at a possible return for the soap’s 30th anniversary, posting a cryptic Twitter post in July.
