"Scandal" Season 4 is on hiatus, but Kerry Washington, who plays Olivia Pope, is not exactly on a break. In fact, the actress on Wednesday teased her Twitter followers, hinting at something new for her character.

Spoiler alert: This update contains Scandal Season 4 spoilers. Read at your own risk.

In its mid-season cliffhanger, Scandal Season 4 convinces many viewers that Olivia Pope really is the modern day Helen of Troy. The new twist could even force the Shondaland POTUS to work with the man who killed his son or launch an all-out war against West Angola.

"Today while playing Olivia Pope I did something that I've never done before and something else that I haven't done in a LOOOONG time," Kerry Washington teased Scandal fans on Twitter.

Something Ms Washington has never done before covers an endless array of portrayal and filming possibilities. Fans' Scandal Season 4 speculations range from heavy stunts to prosthetics needed in the current state of Olivia Pope.

How will the campaign and scandal fixer handle the Republicans' desperate bid to control the POTUS?

Washington is certainly keeping the Scandal fans close on Twitter. Before shouting out her latest Olivia Pope teaser, the actress posted this behind-the-scenes video in the same social network.

Elizabeth North (Portia de Rossi) and Vice President Andrew Nichols (Jon Tenney) have earned the First Lady's wrath. Where will Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young) stand in this Olivia Pope abduction situation?

Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) could go hunting for Rowan Pope (Joe Morton), but if Quinn (Katie Lowes) and Huck (Guillermo Díaz) tell him about the real meaning of WACO, Jake would connect the dots. He and the POTUS would have to work together then, perhaps even with Rowan in the picture.

In Scandal Season 4, Episode 9 ("Where the Sun Don't Shine"), Olivia almost kills Rowan with a gunshot, decides to choose herself, and declares she wants to try having sex on a piano. Moments before she could do the piano deed, however, she vanishes. A conversation between the two top leaders in the U.S. brings to mind some classic Greek drama, including Helen of Troy.

Scandal Season 4, Episode 10 airs Jan. 29 on ABC. Fans will have to wait for a few more weeks before they find out what happens next to Olivia Pope and President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn).
