The Satanic Church in the US plans to build an After School Satan Club in public elementary schools. The group has explained that evangelical groups have created a massive influence over the American youth through their religious programming.

"It's critical that children understand that there are multiple perspectives on all issues, and that they have a choice in how they think," Satanic Temple co-founder Doug Mesner told Chicago Tribune.

Starting Monday, the group has began composing their petition for the After School Satan Club to several public schools. The goal of the organisation is to open the club as soon as the academic year begins. Members of the Satanic Temple from various states came together on July 10 to discuss the proposal. A promotional video of the supposed children's club was released along with an official website -- AfterSchoolSatan.com.

However, the Satanic Temple does not aim to promote the worship of the devil. Rather, it denies all forms of supernatural beings. Its objective is to instill scientific and rational beliefs over religion. They use the image of Satan as a metaphorical representation of free will and rejection of tyranny in the human mind.

The curriculum for the club is said to emphasise on the development of the child's reasoning and social skills. It will also offer literary lessons, art sessions, science projects and puzzle-solving activities. The children will be given memberships card that require a signature from their parents.

"We think it's important for kids to be able to see multiple points of view, to reason things through, to have empathy and feelings of benevolence for their fellow human beings," Chalice Blythe, head of the Satanic Temple in Utah, stated.

As of today, the plan is being debated over by the Satanic Church with the Alliance Defending Freedom, the Liberty Counsel and the US Supreme Court.
