Season 6 of Emmy Award Winning Series "Modern Family" has just kicked off and they picked up almost exactly where they left off in season 5. The previous season highlighted Mitch Prtichett and Cam Tucker's same-sex wedding in the finale and the premiere episode for the new season is entitled "The Long Honeymoon" with obvious reference to the events after the wedding. It wasn't just the newlyweds who are experiencing a struggle with the end of the honeymoon stage as the Dunphy family struggles to adjust when Alex returns from a humanitarian mission and Haley Dunphy unexpectedly finds out she had been revealing more to the public than she wanted leading Phil to call her an online prostitute.

The Dunphy household is having a tremendously perfect summer with all of them getting along really well. Alex is away on a humanitarian mission building homes for the less-fortunate and her two other siblings are left at home. Haley and Luke are surprisingly tolerant and nice to each other and their parents, Claire and Phil Dunphy are enjoying the harmony inside the house. They themselves are able to find time to relax and Claire is even going out of her way to help out Phil with his hobby of doing magic tricks. Haley also shared that her fashion blog has been gaining popularity since she had the idea of doing a live video broadcast.

While the family is happily enjoying their serene and happy summer, Alex arrives unexpectedly a week earlier than scheduled. She complains about the horrific conditions in her humanitarian mission and her arrival immediately affects the family's mood. Haley and Luke revert back to being rude to each other and Claire and Phil notice the change right away.

Claire tries to convince Alex to return and finish her remaining week and Alex, being the smart one in the family, quickly picks up on what Claire is trying to do. She is offended that her family would want her to return after she had just shared her terrible experiences. Phil and Claire try to amend their words but Alex is already one step ahead of them. As she is ranting, Alex calls out Haley for broadcasting her rant on her webcam. Haley then said that she's unaware that the webcam keeps broadcasting even when the webpage for her blog is already closed. Alex reveals to her that the camera does not shut off automatically and she had been inadvertently filming herself in her room as she had been getting dressed and doing other private things.

As they were talking, smoke starts to come out of the oven and Claire reveals that she had left something in the oven to dry. Phil tries to douse the flames but Alex needed to release the safety tab to get the extinguisher to work. Phil then offers Alex a taste of the rhubarb mixture he had intended to bake into a pie with the other kids. Alex points out to them that including the leaves in the mixture has made it poisonous. The entire family spits out their mouthfuls of rhubarb mixture and Phil breaks down and begs Alex to stay as they are a group of fire-starters, poison-eaters and online prostitutes referring to the oven fire, the poisonous rhubarb pie and Haley's indecent webcam exposures.
