Samsung and Apple set their eyes on big screens. Apple has already been cashing on its phablet, the iPhone 6 Plus. According to sales, the device has already been posting double digit sales on its first weekend with analysts looking forward for more. With Samsung's first batch of Galaxy Note 4 linked to build issues, how will the two companies pair with each other?

Apple's figures are better than ever with the iPhone 6/iPhone 6 Plus sales hitting the 10-millionth mark on first weekend. This is a stellar performance compared to the sales of the iPhone 3G back then. According to Bloomberg, the jump in the sales of iPhone products can also be attributed to sales in China. The Chinese market is a large industry to tap.

It hosts millions of possible iPhone users that when tapped properly can offer significant returns. That is why it has been a concern for Apple when it was not able to distribute to China initially. Nonetheless, the concern proved nothing more as figment. Apple succeeded well its iPhone 6 offering.

Bloomberg quoted Tim Cook: "While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than ever before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible."

The next hurdle to overcome will be the release of the Galaxy Note 4. Samsung pushed the launch of the device earlier because preorder performance was also stellar in South Korea. However, according to GSM Arena, the company's eagerness to satisfy demand may have backfired as build issues were linked with the first batch of release. This may also eventually be related to performance issues. According to reports from Korea, there is a gap between the metal casing and display of the handset. The gap is wide enough for a business card or two sheets or A4 paper to fit in. Samsung has not commented on the matter.
