The released SDK ties with the announcement of the S Health 3.0 Platform, which, according to Samsung executive is designed to "establish an ecosystem which will ultimately provide users with an integrated and more comprehensive view of their well-being."

According to the Samsung executive, health tracking and monitoring is an important aspect of the mobile technology as cited in a survey that suggested that 32 per cent of mobile users use fitness apps, 31 per cent of tablet users search for health-related information and 25 per cent of smartphone users exercise, track health and dieting using their devices.

"Samsung will continue to provide more comprehensive SDKs for our mobile devices and maintain collaborative relationships with development partners to present unique and unprecedented content and services to our customers," Hong added.
