After news on Samsung’s SW Update software disabling Windows Update on atleast some computers broke on June 23, the Samsung has come out saying that the company has ceased this practice, according to reports.

According to a report on Tech Times, Samsung is working towards the release of a patch through the Samsung Software Update notification which will enable computers running Windows to return to default and Microsoft's recommended settings of automatically installing Windows updates.

As per the Venture Beat report, the update tools was running a file named “Disable_Windowsupdate.exe,” that prevented Windows Update from automatically downloading and installing updates. “Samsung has a commitment to security and we continue to value our partnership with Microsoft,” the Venture Beat report quoted a Samsung spokesperson, as saying. “We will be issuing a patch through the Samsung Software Update notification process to revert back to the recommended automatic Windows Update settings within a few days,’ Venture Beat quoted Samsung further.

As indicated by Samsung’s support team earlier, Microsoft’s default drivers were causing glitches for Samsung’s laptops due to which the company had to disable all Windows updates, reports Venture Beat.

Samsung’s instant solution stopped other Windows update functions besides disabling Windows drivers and its regular security updates protects computers against malicious software, reports Tech Times. However, Microsoft and Samsung are working together to resolve this issue and Samsung has assured its users that its upcoming patch would update their computer’s drivers and better its functionalities without compromising Windows security functions, according to the Tech Times report.

"As part of our commitment to consumer satisfaction, we are providing our users with the option to choose if and when they want to update the Windows software on their products," the Tech Times report quoted Samsung, as saying.
