Korean technology giant Samsung is said to be developing a Gear Manager app for iOS in the Gear S2 smartwatch. As a result, the next Samsung Gear S3 might come with both Android and iOS support.

Samsung intends to incorporate iOS support in the Gear S2 smartwatch, according to Yibada. If Samsung can develop an iOS Gear Manager app in Gear S2, then iPhone users can enjoy syncing their Samsung watches with Apple devices, Tech Timesreported.

Since the Samsung Smartphone is best paired with the GearS2 smartwatch, the company will have to face several hurdles to create a full and integrated experience for iOS users. Samsung, however, hasn’t divulged any official release date for the Gear Manager app.

But in order to compete against Apple’s next generation Apple Watch, Samsung will most probably deliver iOS support for Gear S2 in the near future. Samsung Gear S2 sports a trendy metallic frame design that’s unique from the plastic smartwatches made by other companies, according to The Science Times.

Although, Apple Watch and the Samsung Gear S2 have aesthetic differences, several wrist gesture features are similar between them.

Samsung's Gear S2 boasts a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED displaywith a 360 x 360 resolution. It’s powered by a dual-core processor clocked at one gigahertz. The smartwatch also has internal storage of 4 GB and supported by a 512 MB of RAM.

The Samsung Gear S2, which was launched on October 2, is now available for $299.99.
