The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 has quietly hit the stores this July. Tech analysts expect the new Nexus 7 from Google to arrive before end of the month. These device updates give cheap Android tablet shoppers additional choices. But some buyers are quick to determine if they've spotted enough dealbreakers to ignore the product. Here are 5 of the possible factors that turn off the buyers from the Tab 3 and new Nexus 7.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 vs New Nexus 7: Price, specs and features

The 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 and new Nexus 7 are on the list of tablet shoppers looking for small Android tablets that don't drain their wallets. Price is always a consideration for those who can't mindlessly spend hundreds of dollars on anything. Here the Top 5 dealbreakers that tablet shoppers might find in these two devices.

1. Price. The Galaxy Tab 3 costs $199.99. It is the same price of the Nexus 7 when it was introduced last year. The new Nexus 7, refreshed and improved, will reportedly cost around $250. In contrast, the hugely popular iPad mini carried a $329 price tag. Between $199 and $250, the $50 difference will not hurt if the specs are right.

2. Storage capacity. The Galaxy Tab 3 has only 8GB flash memory on-board. But users can expand with a microSD card up to 64 GB. The current Nexus 7 lacks the expansion option, and the new device is likely to start at 16GB - still without an external memory provision. For some, the comparison ends here.

3. Screen display. The Tab 3 sports a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels display, but the Nexus 7 will reportedly feature a resolution of 1900 x 1200. If the new report is spot-on, that's a lot of extra pixels to ignore. Even for some spare storage space.

4. CPU and Memory (RAM). Heavy tablet users include gamers, as well as people who often travel and opt to watch some movies in their portable devices. Games and videos require a robust CPU and GPU for the processes and graphics to run smoothly. The Tab 3 is fuelled by a dual core processor clocking at 1.2GHz, while the new Nexus 7 will reportedly have a quad-core processor clocking at 2GHz. The existing N7 already has a quad-core, but the refreshed product will reportedly have a chunkier RAM at 2GB. The Tab 3's RAM is at 1GB.

5. Camera. Taking photos using a 7-inch device used to seem so odd, but now more tablet users are getting the hang of it. Some are even making sure the next tablet they buy has some nice rear camera built-in. The Tab 3 has a 3MP camera, but the Nexus 7 has 5MP. That would be icing on the cake for the Nexus 7.

Overall, there are more dealbreakers in the Galaxy Tab 3 than in the new Nexus 7. Then again, it remains to be seen whether the new Nexus 7 will sport the rumoured specs. Still, if it's between the existing Nexus 7 and Tab 3, these things already apply, except for the camera. (No rear camera in existing N7.)
