Ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S7 launch in February, leaked renders continue to surface around the Web indicating key features for the upcoming smartphone.

As pointed out by 9to5Google, an FCC filing confirms that the Galaxy S7 Edge will house a huge 3,600mAh battery, which is considerably larger than its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S6 launched last September. It is even bigger than the Huawei Nexus 6P that hosts a 3,450mAh battery cell.

The Galaxy S7 Edge is tipped to feature a 5.5-inch display, 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8 Octa 8890 processor; depending on the region it sells in.

According to listings on Zauba, India's import and export tracking website, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will also offer water resistance. Zauba has listed several waterproofing components of the handsets which supports previous reports that Samsung may bring back water resistance. In India, Samsung locally assembles handsets to be sold in the country.

There are reports that Samsung has filed an application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office to trademark the term ‘Always On Display.’ This could be a sign of the company incorporating the feature in the upcoming Galaxy S7 series of handsets.

The self-emitting pixels of AMOLED displays only consume power while displaying content. Thus, ‘Always On Display’ mode can be used to show important information like the time, message notifications, calendar updates, reminders and the weather without consuming much power, reported SamMobile.

Last week, a near final unit of the Samsung Galaxy S7 with model number SM-G930T (for T-Mobile) was on GeekBench, with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 onboard. The listed handset performed better than the AT&T variant in single core and multi-core benchmark tests.

The Galaxy S7 will be unveiled in just less than a fortnight on Feb. 21 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016.
