Thanks to the innumerable leaks and rumours from across the globe, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S7 has shaped up as a promising flagship. In this post, we have listed down the collated configurations and release timeframe, along with the details pertaining to possible variants and new photos.

What Is New?

Slash Gear apparently picked up fresh photos of the Galaxy S7 from a Weibo post, before the source took the update down. The images show a strong, wrap-around metallic design, which apparently looks different when compared to the S6’s construction. However, the site notes, the veracity of the photos cannot be verified.

Meanwhile, according to Evan Blass of @evleaks, the Samsung Galaxy S7 series will be released as Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Plus, Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S7 Edge Plus. In comparison, the S6 lineup comes as Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. The separate inclusion of a “Plus” variant shows, the new device will not be just an upgrade to the existing models with a big screen. Instead, GSM Arena says, it could become a diversified sub-version of the S7, hopefully with better features on board.

Key Galaxy S7 Specs, Features, Release Date

As far as the Galaxy S7 release date goes, the handset will reportedly be introduced during the MWC 2016 event in February. Spec-wise, the device is believed to come powered by both Exynos 8890 chip and Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC. The chipset selection will apparently be made based on the region of release.

According to earlier rumours, the Galaxy S6 successor is expected to sport a new 12 MP BRITECELL rear-facing camera unit with 1/2 inch sensor. However, for a longtime, Samsung has been using the ISOCELL sensors for its Galaxy S lineup.

GSM Arena says, the handset will reportedly come with a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display, 1440p screen resolution and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Other rumoured Galaxy S7 specifications include a magnesium build, Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, Hi-Fi audio and 3D Touch-related features.

To top it all off, the under the hood configurations will reportedly be able to support Cat. 12 LTE connectivity. If true, S7 owners will be able to get up to 600 Mbps downlink speed. As always, readers should note that, Samsung has not confirmed any device-related details thus far.
