The launch of two Samsung flagships, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge pegged for January 2016, is generating a fair amount of buzz. News continues to pour in that these S7 variations will get further face lifts such as a microSD slot and top-to-bottom curved displays.

The features are topnotch in both the versions with the Galaxy S7 being a more regular type of handset for daily use and the S7 Edge meant for those with a penchant for rich looks. The S7 has a slightly smaller screen at 5.2-inches than the S7 Edge with a 5.7-inch flexible display, reports Phone Arena.

Those that loved the curvy sides on Galaxy S7 as shown in pictures will see a new design with more edge to it because of the top-to-bottom curved display. Virtual navigational keys and dock buttons placed at the bottom of curved screen will add more zing to the edgier look. While many feel that buzz about the new features might be baseless, the company’s patented sketches and concept designs prove otherwise.

Here’s more tidbits about the latest features. It seems the Galaxy S7 will also have a sidekick. It’s a small microSD slot grooved inline with the chassis, states Know Your Mobile. In th e aspect, the S7 has an edge over its predecessor, the S6, which didn’t have an expandable storage option.

The rest of the features remain same for the two versions, however. Both are powered by an Exynos 8 Octa or Snapdragon chipsets; 4 GB of RAM; a 20MP BRITECELL camera and a USB Type C connector.
