The first quarter of 2016 has seen the launch of premium flagships like Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5 and Xiaomi Mi5, alongside the recently released HTC 10. It has been over a month that Samsung has announced the high-end Galaxy S7.

According to the CNET review, Samsung’s 2016 flagship device has won many hearts and is considered to be the best Android smartphone currently available in the market. The report also mentioned that the S7 and S7 Edge has managed to surpass its predecessor, the Galaxy S6 series; Apple’s iPhone 6s, LG G5 as well as Google’s Nexus 6P.

The smartphone features a Super AMOLED 5.1-inch QHD display panel with a 2560 x 1440 resolution . Additionally, there is also a new ‘Always-on’ display for quick notifications.

The smartphone touts a massive 4GB of RAM, which helped the device to pass through the benchmark tests with flying colours.

As far as the performance is concerned, the Galaxy S7 scored 6,307 points in the Geekbench multi-core test, defeating Huawei’s Mate 8 as well as Google Nexus 6P, as reported by Trusted Reviews. On AnTuTu, the Galaxy S7 scores a whopping 129,468 points.

In the U.S., the Galaxy S7 is shipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 SoC, whereas the international variant houses Samsung’s in-house Exynos 8890 processor. Moreover, with the Galaxy S7, Samsung decided to bring back microSD card slot, which it dropped for the Galaxy S6 series.

Samsung’s Galaxy S7 is compatible with Samsung Pay, which supports contactless NFC (Near-Field Communication) payments and magnetic strips. The IP68 certified smartphone is fully water and dust resistant.

Meanwhile, Samsung released a new Pink Gold colour variant of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in Korea. The handsets debuted at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 and went on sale from March 11.

The new Pink Gold colour models will soon be available for customers in other select markets, confirmed Samsung. The existing colour palette of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge includes Black Onyx, Gold Platinum, White Pearl and Silver Titanium.
