Short battery life, unstable Wi-Fi, heavy consumption on the RAM, unable to use wireless charging and camera failure are just five among many issues reported by users. Know the possible causes and method on how to work around them.

Shorter Battery Life Compared To Samsung Galaxy S5

Samsung Galaxy S6 has a 2550 mAh battery unit which is less compared to the 2800 mAh equipped on Galaxy S5. Galaxy S6 features new technologies and components that are power-efficient such as display and processor. However, a bigger battery unit still matters on any smartphone or tablet. Here are some solutions to address the problem:

1. Close apps running in the background to avoid battery drain.

2. Enable the built-in Power Saving mode of the device.

3. Download third-party battery saving apps such as Greenify or Juice Defender for advanced tweaking.

Poor Wi-Fi Connection And Stability

Wi-Fi connection issues are common among Android devices regardless of the brand which can be caused by either software or hardware problems. So far, Galaxy S6 has no direct system bug related to Wi-Fi connectivity and there are certain ways to resolve connection losses.

1. Turn off Wi-Fi and wait for five seconds then turn it back on.

2. Make sure the device is within range of the Wi-Fi transceiver which depends on the router’s model and technology.

3. Disable mobile data and leave the Wi-Fi connection on.

4. Forget the Wi-Fi network and then reconnect again by entering the required details.

5. Reboot the smartphone and the Wi-Fi router.

Overconsumption On The RAM Resource

Some users may find that Galaxy S6’s RAM resource is getting consumed by at least 80 per cent even no or fewer apps are running. It is normal that the system occupies the resource instead of wasting it by leaving it empty. Android OS itself will free the RAM when additional memory is required by automatically killing apps and services that are less needed to be prioritised. No need to download another task killer just to free the memory.

Unable To Connect To The Wireless Charger

In case the wireless charger stops working for unknown reasons, check the possible source of fault. First, try another wireless charger to see if the device will react. If not, contact Verizon for replacement because unable to connect the wireless charger indicates hardware issue rather than software.

Camera Error And Failure

An error on the camera indicating failure can occur on Galaxy S6 and it is commonly linked to the application itself. Here are the ways to troubleshoot and fix the issue:

1. Go to Apps and select the Camera App. Select Clear Data and Clear Cache then re-launch the camera app.

2. Create a backup of all data stored in the phone and select the Factory Reset inside the Settings menu.

3. Create a backup of all data stored in the phone and perform a full reset. Switch of the smartphone and then press and hold the volume, home and power keys to reboot into Recovery mode. Inside the Recovery mode, select “wipe data/factory reset” and confirm the process. After that, go back to the main menu and select “reboot system now.”

4. In case the problem persists after performing the reset, contact the network carrier or the retail store to have a replacement.
