Samsung Electronics Co's flagship Galaxy smartphone looks very similar to Apple's iPhone, but the South Korean firm has not violated the iPhone design, a Seoul court ruled on Friday. The South Korean ruling comes as the two technology titans are locked in a high-stakes global patent battle that mirrors a fierce rivalry for industry supremacy between two companies that control more than half the world's smartphone sales. Samsung's Galaxy A5 and A3 received mixed reviews upon release but they also shared hints on what the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 may be like. The full metal body of the A5 suggests that the Korean tech giant is finally getting its act together switching to a more premium design.

The seemingly evolution process among Samsung phones also provide an insight on what people may expect soon with its next big flagship. Tech Radar noted that judging from the "how good the phones look," people can look at the A5 and A3 as possible templates for the Samsung Galaxy S6. Hype over the upcoming flagship has started as Samsung always makes it a point to release major flagship devices at the beginning of the year.

Another report from SamMobile supports reports of the upcoming launch. As the website notes, the Galaxy S6 is already in the early stages of development. It has also been referred to as Project Zero. The new codename marks the company's departure from its standard codenames.

Samsung Galaxy S4 went with Project J while Galaxy S5 went with Galaxy S5. Analysts believe that Samsung is banking on the upcoming device to propel its once more at the front of the competition as competitors like Apple and Xiaomi continue to advance. The codename itself suggests that the company is trying to achieve something unique than most of its releases.

The S6 being in its early stages meant that specs reports can still differ. So far, according to Trusted Reviews, the company is expected to include a 20-megapixel with Android 5.0 Lollipop. The company is also expected to make the jump to 2560 x 1440 pixels QHD while emphasizing on an all-metal premium approach. If Samsung will follow its usual pattern of releases, people can expect its announcement during the Mobile World Congress 2015 with actual release around March. Samsung has not confirmed any details about the device yet. People may have to wait for official announcements.
