Samsung is reportedly trying to re-invent its flagship line with a brand new design via the Galaxy S6 handset. To corroborate this further, a Korean publication named Naver notes that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 will come with built-in wireless charging capability.

A slew of leaks have unanimously pointed to a metal unibody for the Samsung Galaxy S6. This apparently means that the upcoming smartphone will have to forgo one of its widely appreciated features -- the removable battery option. In order to counterbalance this deficit, the South Korean conglomerate will feature the wireless charging capability, says GForGames.

Based on the reports from Naver (Link 1, Link 2) via GForGames, the built-in wireless charging capability presumed to be part of the Samsung Galaxy S6 will be derived from the magnetic induction technology. If this report comes true, the S6 will reportedly be the first Samsung handset to feature wireless charging capability straight out of the box.

On the flipside, housing the said feature will reportedly reduce the chances of a metal unibody chassis. This is predominantly because the wireless charging feature based on magnetic induction will reportedly not work on a metal smartphone. The quoted reason is “metal intersects the magnetic field, resulting in current loss.” And therefore, the only way Samsung could house this feature is by attaching a charging film adapter to the smartphone, similar to the HTC One (M8), points out GForGames.

In this case, how is Samsung going to feature the metal unibody and the wireless charging capability in one device? Apparently, the said aspects can be accommodated on the Galaxy S6 by featuring a “window” to let the current flow. Furthermore, the Galaxy S6 will reportedly come with a “glass body,” says the same site. Perhaps this is why earlier rumours pointed to a glass rear instead of the full-metal unibody design for the Galaxy S6, opines GForGames.

Other rumoured Samsung Galaxy S6 features include a 5.0-inch display, QHD screen resolution, octa-core Exynos 7420 processor and 3 GB of RAM configuration. Additionally, the device will come with a whopping 20 MP primary camera and 7.2 mm thickness, reports GSM Arena. In any case, readers should note that, Samsung has not confirmed the specifications and features thus far.
