Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ release date, pics and specs leaked
Just before the much hyped Samsung Unpacked event on Aug. 13 in New York City, Samsung accidentally released the pre-registration details of the Galaxy S6 Edge+. Subsequently, Samsung has removed the Galaxy S6 Edge+ page. The post has now been replaced with an Unpacked Live event page.
Samsung France revealed that the S6 Edge+ will be available for pre-order from Aug. 21 to Sep. 3. The upcoming Samsung Unpacked event is said to be an important day for the Korean giant. The company is geared to launch two of its flagship devices including the Galaxy Note 5, the next version of Samsung's stylus-laden phablet and the Galaxy S6 Edge+. Samsung generally updates the Note series at the IFA every year. This year, however, Samsung seems to hit the market before the next generation of iPhones.
According to Android Authority, the device specs have been listed by the well-known Romanian retailer evoMAG. The listing reveals that the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will have a 5.67 inch Super AMOLED Quad HD display and will be powered by an Exynos 7420 octa-core processor with 4GB RAM. Additionally, the device will sport a 32GB non-expandable internal storage, LTE Cat 6 offering 300 Mbps download speeds, Wi-Fi n/ac, Bluetooth v4.1, NFC and a fingerprint sensor. The smartphone will also feature a 16MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera and house a 3000 mAh battery. The handset will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop and come with Samsung Pay.
The Samsung Note 5 is supposed to sport a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD (2,560 x 1,440) display. Other alleged Note 5 specs include 4 GB of RAM, an entry-level 32 GB internal storage and a 64-bit octa-core Exynos processor.
