The well-known case maker Obliq has come up with a fresh set of protective case designs for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 flagship smartphone. The fitting designs, which are apparently part of the Slim Meta series, seems to confirm the thickness of the Samsung handset.

According to GSM Arena, Obliq has sent a slew of images of the Slim Meta cases for the Galaxy S6 and apparently, the thickness of this device is 6.9 mm. Upon wrapping the device within the case, the total thickness will reportedly be 9.5 mm. Based on this, the upcoming Samsung flagship will reportedly boast the following dimensions 143.3 x 70.8 x 6.9 mm. On the contrary, an earlier report pointed to a thickness of 7.2 mm, instead of 6.9 mm. Interested readers can check out the case designs from the GSM Arena link above.

Moreover, the Obliq case designs for the S6 reportedly features cutouts for the camera unit, LED flash and heart rate monitor, in addition to the placeholders for the antennas on top and bottom of the device. When it comes to colour options, the rear of the case comes in gold, red and dark grey hues. Speaking of other key features, the Galaxy S6 will reportedly be IP67 certified. This means, the device will be completely protected from dust and it will also be protected from immersion in water between 15 cm and 1 m range.

On the software end, apart from Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, TouchWiz UI is expected to be lighter with relatively less features when compared to the predecessor. And more importantly, Samsung will reportedly miss out on bloatware in the Galaxy S6.

According to Sam Mobile, the South Korean conglomerate will reportedly get rid of the pre-installed apps on the phone. This means, users will be able to get a near-stock Android experience with the Galaxy S6. This also means, a significant amount of storage space can be saved as there will be no bloatwares and, in turn, performance of the handset will also be improved.

As far as the reported Samsung Galaxy S6 specifications go, the device will feature the following: 5.1-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, Exynos 7 octa-core processor, 3 GB of RAM and 2,600 mAh battery unit. Nonetheless, Samsung has not confirmed the Galaxy S6 specifications and features thus far. In any case, the device will reportedly be launched at the MWC event on March 1.
