Samsung Galaxy S5, S4, Note 3 and Grand 2users can update their devices to Android 4.4.4 KitKat soon. According to the recent Samsung roadmap released, the company has finished phase 1 of its Android 4.4.4 rollout. Some devices may already have access to the program but others may have to wait according to their carrier and region. It appears the company wants to finish the update as the Android 5.0 Lollipop release looms around.

The company completed the Android 4.4.4 Kitkat testing of the Samsung Galaxy S5 thus the release should be done later this month. The latest Android software will be rolled out to both the European (900F) and Asian (G900I) models. Other devices scheduled for October update include the Note 3 N900 and the Note 3 LTE GNO005.

The document shows that units like Galaxy S4 I9500, S4 LTE I9505 and Note 3 Neo will receive the Android 4.4.4 software in November. Samsung has not finalized the schedule yet for S4 Mini Duos I9192, S4 Mini I9190, Note 2 N7100, Note 2 LTE N7105 including Grand 2 Duos G7102 and Grand 2 G7105. According to Christian Today, the Android 4.4.4 KitKat Samsung update offers security enhancements, bug fixes and device-specific tweaks. Users have to free up to 285MB space for the software. It is also important to secure a reliable internet connection and sufficient battery charge.

If the device is already available, users should receive a notification. People can just tap the "Download Now" prompt. Select "Install Now." Other ways to update are through the Samsung KIES and manual installation. For manual process, go to Settings > More > About phone > Software updates > Check for software updates.

Samsung should be ready to roll out the Android L update to devices like the Galaxy S5 this late November or early December according to Android Geeks. Third party providers offer a range of custom ROMs with unique user experiences.
