As the official partner and sponsor in this year's Olympic games, Samsung offers Galaxy S3 London Olympic 2012 edition.

People can now jump into the Olympic hype, and British can express their support to their athletes during the competition with their smartphones. The limited edition phone was introduced during the worldwide sporting event.

The limited Olympic edition of the Samsung Galaxy S3 featured four designs. The rear covers sport adorable designs of a soldier from the royal army, two designs of the British flag and a red and blue lion's head. Samsung also boasted limited edition accessories for your Samsung phones. The phone stands feature the different sporting events in the Olympics.

The special edition also includes an original cover, so that users can switch their phone back normal whenever they please. The blue version of the phone features a union jack printed across the back of the phone. Both the white and blue Samsung Galaxy S3 phones incorporate the Olympic rings and the Team GB logo panel.

"As a Worldwide Olympic Partner, we at Samsung want everyone to get behind Team GB and offer them support during the Olympic Games. We are delighted to be able to offer Carphone Warehouse customers the chance to own this exclusive London 2012 Samsung Galaxy SIII handset, combining the chance to support Team GB with owning a piece of cutting-edge Samsung technology," Simon Stanford, VP of Samsung's Telecommunications & Networks Division said.

The smartphone will be available exclusively at UK tech distributor Carphone Warehouse, which will start selling it on August 1. These devices will be available for £28 per month on Vodaphone, Orange, 02, T-Mobile, Talk Mobile and Three networks.

Earlier this week, the Korea-based mobile phone manufacturer also said that the Galaxy S3 will serve as hotel room keycards during the games through a partnership with the Holiday Inn in Statford City.

The device is available for athletes competing in the Games, and will allow users to control lighting in their hotel rooms, change television channels and act as an in-room phone extension.

The Olympic edition of the Galaxy S3 may not be the last design for the Samsung flagship phone. Earlier this month, IBTimes AU reported that a representative of Samsung U.K. told Pocket Lint: "We will be announcing potential color variants in due course."

However, it is not yet confirmed whether the extra colors will only be released in the United Kingdom or will it be available worldwide.

As proof to the earlier statement, AT&T began accepting pre-orders for the Garnet Red Samsung Galaxy S3 on Sunday July 15. The device is expected to be available on July 29. Garnet Red Galaxy S3 will have the same specs and are being sold at the same price; $199 with a two year contract for the 16GB model, and $249 for the 32GB version.

Tech website Pocket Lint speculated that Samsung will launch various rock or gemstone styled versions, such as Emerald Green or Azurite Orange, to match their current naming conventions; Pebble Blue, Garnet Red and Marble White.
