Both Samsung and Apple are rumoured to be unveiling two of their most anticipated flagship devices of 2016 in the second half of the year -- the Galaxy Note 6 and iPhone 7. But with both devices expected to come boasting of revolutionary technology and design innovations, which one will you choose?

To help you make your decision, we explore the top (speculated) features of the Galaxy Note 6 and pit them against the Apple iPhone 7:

Display innovations

Samsung may finally incorporate the stunning 4K display with the Galaxy Note 6, which is expected to come packed with a 5.8-inch AMOLED screen with RGX matrix technology. The display is believed to support Quad HD resolution.

Samsung is also said to be including a pressure sensitive display technology with 1,024 pressure points for the upcoming phablet.

On the other hand, Apple is rumoured to be introducing three pioneering display innovations to its next generation iPhone. Firstly, prevailing speculations indicate that Apple may drop its physical home button and introduce a top-to-bottom display screen.

Secondly, Apple may include an anti-reflective coating on the display of the next iteration of the iPhone 6s. The company used a similar display technology for its iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 4.

Finally, the iPhone 7 may sport a high-end sapphire display which the tech giant used for its Apple Watch.

The Cupertino-based tech giant may also ditch its 3.5mm headphone jack to make the iPhone 7 thinner than ever.

Storage and RAM

Both Samsung and Apple are expected to go out of their way to improve the storage and RAM capacities of their respective upcoming devices. The larger iPhone 7 Plus may offer a gigantic 256GB storage variant with a generous 3GB of RAM, while the Galaxy Note 6 is speculated to come with 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options, and a a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

The successor to the Galaxy Note 5 may also be the first smartphone ever to come with a humongous 6GB of RAM.

Camera

Apple’s iPhone 7 is anticipated to come with a dual-lens camera set-up, although some rumours indicate that this feature might be exclusive to the iPhone 7 Plus (Pro). With a dual-lens camera module, users will be able to take advantage of different focal lengths for greater zooms.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is speculated to sport a 12-megapixel camera with a 5-axis Optical Image Stabilisation system known as Super OIS. This will enable users to shoot high resolution videos and pictures in very low light conditions.

Other innovations

Apple's partnership with start-up company Energous Corporation (NASDAQ: WATT), known for its proprietary wireless charging technology called WattUp, could also see the iPhone 7 change the game when it comes to charging devices.

WattUp is a wire-free charging technology which comprises a small WattUp chip and an Energous transmitter. The tiny receiver chip will be able to wirelessly charge a mobile device as long as it is within a 15 feet radius of the transmitter.

Meanwhile, a patent application filed by Samsung and first spotted by Patently Mobile, shows an all-new dual OS hybrid device with an internal powering dock. There are speculations that Samsung may use this technology for its upcoming Galaxy Note 6.
