Samsung is said to unveil a comparatively cheaper version of its rumoured Galaxy Note 6 with a low-powered processor onboard. The Korean smartphone vendor will apparently ship a ‘Lite’ version of the Galaxy Note 6 along with the standard model.

The anticipated Samsung Galaxy Note 6 Lite will reportedly sport a Snapdragon 820 SoC. On the other hand, the higher-end model is slated to be powered by the latest and unannounced Snapdragon 823 chipset. The new processor is said to tout a clock speed of up to 3.0 GHz , according to Phone Arena.

To date, most of the flagship smartphones of 2016 including Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5 and HTC 10 are shipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 chipset. Both HTC and LG have used Snapdragon 652 SoC to power the lower end variants like HTC 10 Lifestyle and LG G5 SE.

It will be rather interesting to see if Samsung actually ships the lower-end version of the Note 6 with the powerful Snapdragon 820 chipset. However, there is no confirmation on the same.

The information surfaced online via a Weibo user, which claims that the Galaxy Note 6 Lite will also tout a 5.8-inch display screen but with Full HD resolution (1080x1920 pixels). The standard version of the Note 6 is pegged to sport a Quad HD display, carrying a 1440x2560 pixel resolution.

Moreover, the low-end ‘Lite’ variant of the Galaxy Note 6 is expected to come packed with a generous 4GB of RAM as compared to the massive 6GB pegged for the standard model.

Speculations also indicate that Samsung’s upcoming low-end ‘Lite’ variant will be cheaper than the regular model of Galaxy Note 6.

There are rumours that Samsung will release the Galaxy Note 6 in two variants -- one with a flat screen and the other with a dual-edge curved display. Other speculated Galaxy Note 6 specs include a humongous 4,200mAh battery, up to 256 GB internal storage capacity, IP68 water resistance and an iris scanner.
