This year, Samsung is widely expected to refresh its Galaxy Note series of handsets. With the upcoming Galaxy Note 6, it is believed the Korean tech giant would bring in significant feature upgrades to the current Galaxy Note 5.

Here are some speculated Galaxy Note 6 specs and features:

Display

The Galaxy Note 6 will reportedly feature a brighter and more vibrant display than its predecessor. The Galaxy Note 5 sports a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.

According to a report in SamMobile, Samsung’s forthcoming phablet will sport a 5.8-inch Slim RGB AMOLED display with a Quad HD resolution.

Processor and Memory

As far as the processor is concerned, with the Galaxy Note 6, Samsung is said to adopt the same strategy that it adopted for its Galaxy S7 handsets. The Korean tech giant is believed to ship the Galaxy Note 6 with different processors in different markets.

The Galaxy Note 6 may feature both Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890 chipsets depending on the market it sells in, as compared to Galaxy Note 5 powered by Exynos 7420 SoC.

Moreover, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 6 could be the first ever smartphone to come with a humongous 6GB of RAM. On the other hand, Galaxy Note 5 is shipped with 4GB of RAM.

MicroSD card slot

Last year, with the Galaxy Note 5 as well as the Galaxy S6 series, Samsung decided to drop its expandable storage option. Just like Galaxy S7 lineup, Samsung is also speculated to bring back microSD card slot for the rumoured Galaxy Note 6.

Storage options

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 comes with 32GB, 64GB and 128 GB storage options, whereas its successor is believed to come packed with enhanced storage capacity of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.

New Stylus design

Samsung is said to incorporate a unique twist in the stylus of the upcoming Galaxy Note 6 smartphone.

Earlier this year, Samsung filed a patent application for a stylus pen with dual functionality. The patent was published by U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and first spotted by Patently Mobile. According to the patent, the new unique Stylus Pen can be bent mid-way and locked to be converted into a stand.

Super OIS

The main camera of the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is expected to come equipped with Super Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) feature which will bring in 20 percent improvement in camera stabilisation while taking pictures in low light conditions.

Samsung has not announced the Galaxy Note 6 release date.
