Samsung's Galaxy Note 5 is going to get the latest Android operating system soon. According to a new leak, the device has already been slated to get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow in December.

The leak about the update reaching Galaxy Note 5 units in a month's time first came out shortly after Samsung officially announced that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be launched for its devices in the fourth quarter of 2015, as reported by Realty Today.

Considering that November has just ended, Galaxy Note 5 users are expecting their units to get the update in December. After all, rumours that the phablet will be getting the update soon first made its way to the Internet in October and have been making its rounds all over the Web since.

According to Neurogadget, another Galaxy Note 5 model that appeared in the leak is SM-N920G. However, it has not yet been confirmed that the model had already passed the test, despite the document's date stamp of Nov. 15, 2015. At the time, the status of the model was still "uploading," which suggested that developers are still going to have more tests after the upload is completed.

It is also reported that the Galaxy Note 5 is going to get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow together with Samsung's current flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6 Edge+. After all, these two devices were launched only a couple of months ago. That said, consumers are expecting the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge to follow sometime in January next year, and the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge the very next month.

The Korean tech giant has neither confirmed nor denied them and has not commented on the matter at all.
