The much-appreciated ISOCELL camera was last seen in 2014 flagship Samsung Galaxy S5. However, the recently released Snapdragon-powered Galaxy Note 4 did not come with the ISOCELL sensor. Instead, the handset flaunts a Sony IMX240 sensor. But according to recent news, the Exynos-powered Samsung Galaxy Note 4 sports the ISOCELL sensor.

The initial understanding is that, except for the difference in processor units both the Note 4 variants will be virtually identical. However now, the two Galaxy Note 4 models, one with the Snapdragon 805 and the other featuring an Exynos 5433 processor, come with configuration difference as well. With the help of a hidden service menu, the firmware version of the camera unit was scrutinised and found to sport two different sensors on the two Note 4 models, according to GSM Arena.

Apparently, the Exynos-powered Galaxy Note 4 variant is similar in configuration to the Galaxy S5, whereas the Snapdragon-powered model houses the unit from Sony. In any case, the Galaxy Note 4 users can verify their phablet's camera model by following these steps: Click on the dialler -> type down *#34971539# -> click the ISP Ver Check button. Also it is worth mentioning that, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with Exynos processor comes with the much-loved phase-detection autofocus support, seen in the Sony sensor.

On the other hand, if readers are wondering which processor among the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 and Samsung's Exynos is superior, the answer is derived from a custom test conducted by Phone Arena. As it turns out, both chipsets are extremely powerful, without a doubt. However, the areas they dominate seem to vary. The octa-core Exynos-powered variant of the Galaxy Note 4 graded better on raw computational scores and RAM performance. Reportedly, this translates to faster app execution and load times. Meanwhile, the Snapdragon 805-powered version scored higher in the graphics benchmarks. This means, gaming enthusiasts should opt for this processor.

Nonetheless, Samsung has definitely built its Note 4 models with cutting-edge configurations, guaranteeing killer under the hood performance, irrespective of the housed chipsets. Phone Arena also points out that, the two Galaxy Note 4 models are way ahead of other phablets in its custom test.
