The Mobile World Congress is days away, and industry pundits are predicting a slew of new devices from the top mobile makers to make their debut. While Samsung opted out of debuting its Galaxy S III at MWC, the company is still expected to announce new devices, possibly the Galaxy Mini 2 S6500.

A source sent a leaked promotional image to GSM Arena showing the new Galaxy Mini 2 S6500, codenamed Jenna which could see its debut at MWC later this month. The first Galaxy Mini 25570 was a mid-level phone that Samsung released for people who wanted a more affordable and smaller version of the Galaxy. The specs attached to the image show the new phone will have some improvements over its predecessor.

The new Galaxy Mini 2 S6500 will have a larger 3.3 inch HVGA display, a faster 800 Mhz processor and 3Gb of internal storage. The mobile phone will also have a 3 megapixel rear-facing camera and 7.2 Mbps HSDPA connectivity. The new Mini will run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. There's no word if Samsung will upgrade this to the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. The leaked image didn't reveal the retail price but it did have a label that says "February 2012" which could mean that the device will be released later this month.
