Samsung refuses to back down on smartphone releases as two new phones show up: the Galaxy E5 and the Galaxy E7. The new Galaxy handsets came as a surprise because it they have not been reported or leaked until now. According to the latest information, the upcoming handsets will be fashioned according to the Galaxy Alpha from the Galaxy A line. Can Samsung pull off better sales with these phones?

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy phones will reportedly target the mid-range market. The leak comes from SamMobile. According to the leak, the two handsets will be shipping with large displays. They will go by the names SM-E500F and SM-E700F for Galaxy E5 and E7 respectively. The specs sheet provided also reveals that the E7 will come with the following features: 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display offering 720p resolution, Snapdragon 410 CPU, 2300 mAh battery, 16GB internal storage, 2GB RAM, 13MP rear shooter, 5MP secondary camera and microSD card slot.

GSM Arena reports that the devices will run specifically on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC complete with a 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU. The device will also measure around 151 x 77 x 7.2 mm. The leaks also agree that the devices will be shipping with Android 5.0 Lollipop from the beginning.

The Galaxy E5, on other hand, will feature a 5-inch Super AMOLED Display offering 720p, 8MP primary shooter and 5MP secondary camera. It will also come with a 16GB internal storage plus 2GB RAM and 2300 mAh battery. Similar to the E7, it will also come with a Snapdragon 410 chipset. The E5 will reportedly be thinner measuring at 6.9mm and weighing at 140g.

GSM Arena also emphasizes that because of the Android version to be preinstalled in the devices; their availability can take a few more weeks. Samsung has not completed the roll out of the Android 5.0 update to its existing flagships thus the possible delay. There are no details whether they will sport metal builds as Samsung has not announced the official specs.
