Samsung is gearing-up for the release of a handful of smartphones, including its upcoming flagship range, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. The Samsung Galaxy A9, however, has also been at the centre of speculation for the past few weeks. The company mistakenly posted the probable release date of the device on its Iran website.

The new listing on the company's Iran website reveals the South Korean tech giant might launch the Galaxy A9 smartphone on Dec. 1. The smartphone is expected to come packed with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, which results in a pixel density of 401 pixels per inch. Featuring a metal build, the Galaxy A9 will be available in Black, White and Gold colour variants.

The device is expected to be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 620 chipset with Adreno 510 GPU for graphics. With 3 GB of RAM on board, the device could offer 32 GB of internal memory that can be further expended via a microSD card slot up to 128 GB.

There’s also a 16 MP main camera along with a 5 MP front-facing camera for selfies and video chats. The phone preinstalled with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will probably house a non-removable battery of unspecified capacity. Furthermore, connectivity options include built-in Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC and Bluetooth 4.0.

With the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, Samsung has plans to re-introduce microSD expansion slots. The company received negative feedback from all corners of the market after it decided to remove the memory expansion slot and the replaceable battery, said Tech Times. Moreover, both the Galaxy A3 and A5 smartphones have passed the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC), indicating a possible release in the coming months.
