The much anticipated Samsung Galaxy A9 unit has been leaked in official promo pictures. It is expected to be released this month or in January. In many ways, the new galaxy model follows the same trend as the A3, A5 and A7 from the Galaxy “A” series of the 2016 line-up.

Just like the A3, A5 and A7 models, the A9 has a metal frame body and dual 2.5D glass panels for hints of sophisticated look on the exterior, reports GSMarena. Going by the display, the phone boasts of a 6-inch screen that looks spectacular with 1080 resolution for enhanced clarity for videos and images.

With the Snapdragon 620 chipset inside, the phone’s performance is gauged strongly with a 3GB of RAM that ensures best performance. The phone’s powered by an octa-core 1.8GHz processor with 4x Cortex-A72 and 4x Cortex-A53 cores. It is also powered by Adreno 510 GPU.

As for the other specs, the Samsung Galaxy A9 comes with a 13MP rear camera marked by optical image stabilization and f/1.9 aperture for brighter images. Indeed, a 13MP camera is powerful enough to help amateurs take perfect shots.

The phone’s 8MP selfie snapper supports panoramic pictures for excellent clicks. It has a massive 4,000 mAH battery for long-running life. This means you don’t need to worry about your phone losing battery power immediately.

The A9 has 32GB expandable storage option with LTE Cat.7 connectivity. As for the operating system, the A9 will launch with 5.1.1 Lollipop running at its core, but a Marshmallow update is scheduled for release for the phone, a few months after the phone’s launched.

The Galaxy A9 will reportedly sport a fingerprint scanner and Samsung Pay app on the device. The phone’s available for Christmas in China at CNY 3,000 (AU$639.39).
