The winner of the 2013 Dolly Model Search has been announced! Samantha Garza of Perth takes over Kirsty Thatcher, 2012 winner, as Dolly's brand ambassador.

On July 16, the Dolly Model Search winner was announced at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney. 16-year-old Samantha Garza posed alongside her Dolly magazine cover. Samantha's diverse ethnic background - her mother is Dutch-Maori, her father Spanish-Mexican-American - and her confident and positive outlook proved to be the winning combination.

Samantha Garza has a busy year ahead. Aside from her duties as Dolly brand ambassador, the aspiring doctor won a modeling contract with Chadwick Model Management. A trip to New York to meet with Chadwick's U.S. affiliates is also in order.

Based on a few past winners, the future is bright for Perth's Samantha Garza. Miranda Kerr got her start as the winner of the 1997 Dolly Model Search. The 30-year-old model is now one of the most recognisable faces in the industry. Miranda was the first Aussie to put on those signature Victoria's Secret angel wings. Mrs. Orlando Bloom has also walked the runway for high fashion labels like Balenciaga and Prada. Miranda has parlayed her modeling success into something more. Flynn's mom now has Kora Organics, her own line of organic skin care.

Aside from Miranda Kerr, Jessica Hart, also from Sydney, started her career by besting other finalists at the 2000 Dolly Model Search. While Jessica had a brief stint on reality television, appearing on MTV's "The City" with Whitney Port, the 27-year-old's popularity has since soared. Jessica has appeared in a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and has also modeled for Victoria's Secret. Vogue Australia and Elle Spain are two out of the long list of Jessica Hart magazine covers.
