“Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star Kim Kardashian and her husband Kanye West recently welcomed their second child named Saint West on Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Just days after giving birth, Kardashian has announced the newest addition to the West family through a post on Twitter which includes the name that they have decided to give to their newborn son.

“SAINT WEST,” Kardashian simply posted on her Twitter account @KimKardashian.

An unnamed source has explained to Us Weekly that the married couple referred to their second child as a saint during Kardashian’s pregnancy. The 35-year-old TV and social media personality reportedly had a hard time conceiving.

Kardashian also took to Twitter and Instagram to share her excitement in welcoming her second child.

“Ready whenever you are lol,” Kardashian posted as a caption to the shared image on her Instagram account kimkardashian on Friday, Dec. 4.

“He’s here!” Kardashian shared to her Twitter followers on early Saturday morning, Dec. 5, with a photo of her holding hands with Kanye.

Kardashian further updated her fans that she and her newborn son are doing well through an announcement on her website kimkardashianwest.com. According to another post on her website, Saint West weighs eight pounds and one ounce.

While thinking of a name for their son, Kardashian and West decided not to use another direction, just like their daughter, North West. A lot of people even thought that the celebrity couple will choose the name Easton for their baby boy. However, the couple had discussed about honouring Kardashian’s late father, attorney and businessman Robert Kardashian.

In 2013, Kris Jenner explained during her guest appearance on “The View” why her daughter and husband Kanye West gave the name North to their firstborn child.

“The way [Kim] explained it to me was North means 'highest power,' and she says that North is [Kim and Kanye's] highest point together. And I thought that was really sweet,” Jenner shared with the hosts of “The View.”

Meanwhile, TMZ reports that Saint West arrived in this world with one big complication that has his mother describing the birth experience as the “most painful ever.” Unnamed sources revealed to TMZ that Kardashian had something called placenta accreta that’s why it took baby boy Saint West a really long time to make his first appearance.

TMZ further reports that the doctors needed two more hours to deal with Kardashian’s placenta issues. The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star was able to give birth naturally, which is often recommended in such cases, instead of a C-section.
