Updated Nov. 27: Premier Jay Weatherill confirmed on Friday that a total number of 87 homes have been destroyed in the bush fire. The number is expected to increase after the final analysis of the fire ground, according to Weatherill. A large number of Livestock have also been killed, the premier said.

"We also know that there have been extraordinary losses of livestock and wildlife," the ABC quoted Weatherill as saying. "Tens of thousands of chickens and estimates of something like 27,000 livestock. These are enormous numbers and it's great sadness associated with the loss of those animals' lives."

Federal Minister Christopher Pyne said the state government will receive cooperation from the Commonwealth in arranging emergency relief.

(South Australia) The massive bushfires that have been ravaging South Australia’s mid-north for days have completely destroyed 35 homes, whereas 42 others have suffered deep impacts of the fiery calamity, the Country Fire Service confirmed on Friday. The firefighters have been trying to quell the raging flames all night and have been able to bring 75 percent of the blaze under control.

So far, two deaths have been reported in the Pinery fire, with 19 injured and five admitted to hospital in critical conditions. The two persons who died in the blaze are 69-year-old Allan Tiller and 56-year-old Janet Hughes.

The Country Fire Services confirmed the number later after a spokesperson told a press conference earlier on Friday that 77 homes have been destroyed. According to the authorities, 166 sheds have been also been destroyed.

SA Police have also reopened the roads in the fire ground for residents to return to their homes and assess the damages. As of Friday morning, the Insurance Council of Australia confirmed the receipt of 415 claims touching almost $61 million. More claims are expected by the policyholders. According to Rob Whelan, the chief executive of the council, the bushfires have affected agricultural sector of the region the most.

"These fires have had a devastating impact on the farming community with crop, stock and commercial assets making up the overwhelming bulk of the losses so far," the ABC quoted Whelan as saying.

On Thursday, the primary services officials said 51,000 chickens at a farm in Hamley Bridge and 500 pigs at Wasleys have been killed in the bushfires. Reports of loot have also surfaced while the bush fire was raging south Austraia.
