The name of Hollywood actor Ryan Gosling constantly being mentioned on the list of potential actors who could portray Christian Grey in the upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie.

Ever since his breakthrough role and performance in "The Notebook" film with Rachel McAdams, fans have completely fallen in love with the 31-year old actor. However, someone appears to be playing coy with the "Fifty Shades" fans.

Ben Lyons of TV's "Extra" caught up with actor Ryan Gosling at the recent Toronto Film Festival premiere of his latest film "The Place Beyond The Pines" and asked the "Drive" actor about the possibility of portraying the now iconic role of Christian Grey in the much anticipated big screen adaptation of the hit erotic novel by author E.L. James.

How did Gosling respond to the question? "I don't. What is this book that everyone is talking about? It seems very popular," Ryan Gosling replied to the question as he scuttled away very quickly at that point.

Meanwhile, Gosling attended the premiere of his latest film with co-star and girlfriend Eva Mendes as he eagerly talked about his character. The actor portrays a motorcycle stunt rider who considered committing a crime in order to provide for his wife and child. However, he ended up colliding with the cop-turned-politician character portrayed by Bradley Cooper.

"It's always been a fantasy of mine to rob a bank, but I'm scared of jail!" Gosling said of his role in the film. Meanwhile, "The Place Beyond the Pines" is set for release in 2013.

Was Ryan Gosling really not aware about the "Fifty Shades of Grey" craze or is he just playing games? The actor could have just cleared the casting rumors right away just like what Emma Watson did before but that is not exactly what Ryan Gosling did. It now ignites the idea that the actor is already in talks along with the other actors by the "Fifty Shades of Grey" film casting crew.
