Australian DJ and actress Ruby Rose’s profile continues to soar in the US and Australia as she will be appearing on the cover of Marie Claire’s Rising Stars August issue. Rose, who is dating Harley Gusman, opened up on how the film industry is casting more LGBT actors.

According to The West Australian, Rose told Marie Claire that after appearing in a number of blockbuster action movies such as John Wick: Chapter Two and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, she now wants to branch out and do something “unexpected.”

After three action films in a row, she now wants to do a comedy film now and then a “gritty drama,” as these are something people don’t expect out of her. She said she is “living the life that I dreamt of as a kid, but that I couldn’t have actually fathomed coming true.”

When asked on how gay people are being accepted in the film industry, Rose said things are now slowly changing.

“It’s strange that people can imagine someone being blue or being able to fly in films and do all these crazy things, but they can’t imagine somebody who is gay playing a heterosexual male or female. We’re all playing characters, so I think that’s closed-minded. But I do think things are changing slowly,” Rose told Marie Claire.

Rose celebrated Fourth of July in the US with her high-profile celebrity friends. She was at Taylor Swift’s star-studded Rhode Island party that also had celebrity guests such as Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevigne and Swift’s new lover Tom Hiddleston.

Ruby and Harley’s romance is now the talk of the town. The “Orange is the New Black” actress, who was formerly engaged to designer Phoebe Dahl, was all over Gusman at Taylor Swift's Fourth of July party on Rhode Island. The two shared PDA moments on their social networking platforms to confirm their romance.

Rose simply couldn’t keep her hands off Gusman. The pair was also pictured packing on the PDA as they frolicked about in the sea at the weekend. Now, the couple has made things public on social media.
